The iconic Bee Bottle celebrates its 160th birthday
A show held at 68, Champs-Élysées.
Guerlain has given carte blanche to nine Maîtres d’Art, each one representing unsurpassed excellence in their individual field, to create works inspired by and destined to complement the Bee Bottle, originally created in 1853 for Empress Eugénie.

“The Cage for Birds and Bees” reprises the emblematic architecture of the Bee Bottle with its gilded structure revealing a delicate feather marquetry perfectly matching the chased metal.
The minutely trimmed adornment of tangled feathers is particularly striking. The piece achieves an enthralling play on a chromatic chiaroscuro and contrasting matte and iridescent effects. The openworked dome reveals a silky, downy nest where the Bee Bottle rests, ready to take flight.
