CHOPARD RED CARPET COLLECTION

For the Cannes Festival, maison Chopard Co-President and Creative Director, Caroline Scheufele created an exceptional collection inspired by her travels, dreams and by nature.

The most emblematic piece in the 2018 Red Carpet collection is a first in the world of High Jewellery: a spectacular feather necklace inspired by the costumes, traditional skills and crafts of the peoples of the Mongolian plains.

This creation, imagined and created by Nelly Saunier, comprises of a sculpted gold cameo adorned with swirls of blue apatites, violet garnets and red jasper, which is set at the centre of a collar of rooster, grey heron, ostrich and black pheasant feathers.

"Feathers are a vibrant, surprising, rich material. To say that they inspire me would be very much an understatement. Spend a little time holding a feather in your hand, examining it, and you won't be able to stop yourself from thinking about things like lightness, gravity, nature, beauty, movement... Watch more closely and you will see the bird, the whole bird, in flight, hidden in the tangle of the barbs." – NELLY SAUNIER
